The Haryana Civil Medical Services Association (HCMSA), Jind, has asked Health Minister Anil Vij to change his style of functioning and shun suspending doctors on the spot without verifying facts. After an inquiry by its team, the Jind HCMSA today come out in support of the two doctors suspended by Vij on June 26 and demanded their immediate reinstatement.

“We have probed the matter and checked all documents and found that both doctors, Dr Ramesh Panchal and Dr Seema Vashisht, were not at fault. Though the authorities informed the minister that Dr Panchal was on leave and Dr Seema had written that prescription in January, the minister suspended both in haste, ” said Dr JK Mann, vice-president of the HCMSA, Jind, while talking to mediapersons in the local civil hospital along with other members of the association and the suspended doctors.

Mann stated that they appreciated Vij for his anti-corruption efforts but the minister should not take any decision in haste as it has been demoralising honest doctors.

“We request the minister to get an inquiry conducted first and then order suspension. We would support Vij in his action against guilty doctors after inquiry. But before inquiry all suspension would only invite criticism and demoralise doctors “ said Mann.

Asserting that their suspension was without valid reasons, the suspended doctors demanded justice from the minister.

“I have all the record to prove that the prescription on the basis of which I was suspended, was issued in January, 2015, when we had that prescribed medicine in the stock. Anyone can check the stock register and medicine issuance slip from the hospital record. On June 26 , a patient came to me after six months and was yet to be examined by me. But the minister wrongly suspended me after alleging that I had written the medicine which was out of stock. It is injustice,” said Dr Seema Vashisht.

Dr Ramesh Panchal, who was on leave on June 26 and was suspended by Vij, also demanded justice and requested the minister to get the matter investigated and reinstate them.

“I have all record to prove that I was on leave. We request the minister to look into the matter” said Panchal.
