Is Honeypreet aka Priyanka Taneja, Dera Sacha Sauda chief’s “adopted” daughter, whom the police are in the process of declaring a proclaimed offender, being held captive? She was last seen in public with Ram Rahim after his conviction on August 25.

Neither the police nor Honeypreet’s parents have a clue to her whereabouts ever since the dera chief’s daughter, Charanpreet Kaur Insaan, “summoned” her from Hanumangarh, where she was staying with a relative, and handed her over to two confidants of the jailed dera chief. The special investigation team (SIT) of the Haryana Police has already questioned Charanpreet in this regard.

Panchkula Commissioner of Police Arshinder Singh Chawla, who is also IG (Law and Order), said: “Charanjeet maintains Honeypreet visited

Gurusar Modia of her own volition and left with two of Ram Rahim’s aides. The claim needs to be checked.”

Sources said after interrogating Honeypreet’s brother Sahil on September 19 on his sister’s whereabouts, the SIT carried out searches in Sirsa, Panchkula, Hanumangarh and Gurusar Modia. Sahil was set free on the night of September 21 after raids in the dera chief’s ancestral village. Honeypreet’s parents Asha Taneja and Ramanand Taneja too were questioned for almost 12 hours.

Sources close to the family said Honeypreet accompanied the dera chief to Rohtak’s Sunaria jail, She arrived at the dera in the wee hours of August 26 in a dera vehicle and stayed with Ram Rahim’s mother Naseeb Kaur till August 28 when Ram Rahim’s family moved to their ancestral house in Gurusar Modia, Rajasthan. Honeypreet then drove to her brother’s in-laws’ house in Hanumangarh. On the evening of August 29, Charanpreet sent some persons to fetch her and the following day she “handed her over” to two dera chief’s confidants.

Sources claimed Honeypreet’s family was not allowed to meet  her for months after she was “adopted” by Ram Rahim. They are now worried about her safety but have yet to approach the police. The Commissioner of Police said two persons were under the radar already.
