The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) will start online approval of the building plans.
The new system will ease the process of getting approvals which was otherwise a tough job for many due to the cumbersome manual process beset with ‘corruption.’ PC Meena, Administrator, HUDA, said that the software was ready and the webportal for registration of applications will be operational by next week. Officials from the agency that designed the system demonstrated the new process to the IT cell and architects registered with their office today.
Admitting that the manual process had been marred by delays, irregularities and complaints of corruption, the online system will make such irritants a thing of the past as the applicants will not be required to visit any office or officials for this purpose, he added.
Some of the technical glitches noticed during the demonstration will be removed and the applicants will get the approval within seven working days if all the documents were in order and the fee has been paid, he said.
The fee could be paid online and the applicants will be able to track the status of their application by visiting the website and any delay will be intimated through SMS. Presently, the building plan is sanctioned by the Estate Officer (EO) and it takes at least 21 working days.
The architects or the applicants will have to submit the drawings in AutoCAD form on the webportal. The drawing will be accepted if it confirms to norms and returned to the sender if there are any faults. The staff has been trained to use the software and will be applicable across the state, he added.
