Kurukshetra, April 24
Leaders of the INLD-BSP alliance on Tuesday announced a “jail bharo andolan” on May 1 to oppose the BJP government’s “failure” in implementing the Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations, constructing the SYL canal and scrapping Dadupur-Nalvi irrigation projects.
This was decided at the maiden district-level meeting of the alliance partners here.
“The ‘jail bharo andolan’ will begin from Bhiwani. On May 18, a political rally will be organised in Kurukshetra after which top leaders of the alliance will court arrest. The INLD-BSP alliance is determined to expose BJP government’s policies,” said state INLD president Ashok Arora.
He said the first state executive meeting of the alliance would be held here on May 2. Arora said the alleged “cash-for-job” scam in the Haryana Service Selection Commission exposed the corrupt practices under the Manohar Lal Khattar’s rule in the state.
