Karan Dalal dares KVN to take legal action against him

Karan Singh Dalal, senior Congress leader and Palwal MLA, said today that he still stood by his comment against the Karnal Vikas Nidhi (KVN), a trust established on the call of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for the development of Karnal.

Dalal had demanded an inquiry into the formation of the trust and collection of funds last week. He had also alleged that the trust was run by a person who claimed to be CM’s close relative. He also raised questions on the involvement of the Deputy Commissioner in it.

“I stand by my words and will not retract. I welcome the legal notice served by the KVN and give it 15 days to start their proceeding to prosecute me or I will reveal the truth about the KVN,” he said.

Interacting with mediapersons here today, he accused the KVN of extorting money from residents, besides defacing the property of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) by using it for publicity. He demanded registration of a case against the members of the KVN for defacing the property of the NHAI.

Dalal said they had demanded the Governor to initiate a probe CM’s role in it. “The role of the previous DC should also be probed and an FIR should be registered in this regard,” he said. “It is an illegal organisation, which has been formed to collect funds,” he said.

The Palwal MLA questioned why the CM had to get involved in such organisations for development. He accused Khattar of misusing the guest house and developing it as the CM camp office. He said if the CM had to visit his constituency regularly, he should buy a house here.

BJP burns Dalal’s effigy

Following the press meet of Karan Singh Dalal, BJP activists staged a protest at the Committee chowk and burnt his effigy. They accused Dalal for defaming the CM and demanded an apology from him.
