Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced development projects amounting to Rs 65 crore for the Indri constituency today. He assured local residents of more projects in the vicinity in near future.

Khattar took part in a roadshow that passed through Khanpur, Phushgarh and Indri city. Local residents welcomed the roadshow at several places. Later, he chaired a function organised by the Aggarwal Sabha to mark the birth anniversary of Maharaja Agrasen in Indri. Khattar also inaugurated a mobile ATM van of Canara Bank in Indri and withdrew Rs 1,100, which he gifted to a girl standing there.

Khattar, while addressing the community members, assured them of naming a chowk after Maharaja Agrasen.

Minister of State for Food and Supplies Karan Dev Kamboj raised a few demands at the programme. The Chief Minister while reacting to the demands said the government has enough resources for development works and in the last three years, they had made all efforts for the inclusive development of the state.

He announced a bypass for Indri town, a rest house at Kunjpura, a sewage treatment plant near Dhanora escape, widening of a canal bridge near Dhanora, strengthening of various roads in Vasant Vihar, Darad, Sangoha and other villages and upgrade of the Ramba primary health centre.

He said a grant of Rs 300 crore had been announced for development works in Indri.

Khattar lauded the efforts of Maharaja Agrasen and referred to him as a legendary visionary and a great social worker who worked for the uplift of society.

He said he had toured the state thrice and sanctioned Rs 200 to Rs 300 crore for each Assembly segment for development works. “The BJP government has brought transparency to ensure a corruption-free system,” he added.

On e-trading and direct payment to farmers, the Chief Minister said some people opposed the initiative, so they are keeping it on hold for a year. Farmers and traders would do business through the old method in the grain market for one year, he added.
