Unhappy with the poor board results, CM Manohar Lal Khattar today hinted at educational reforms.

“Nobody is happy with the standard of education provided by the government. The result of Class X was 31 per cent and it touched 45 per cent after including the results of private schools. Similarly, the result of Class XII was 54 per cent,” he observed.

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone of Gita Niketan Awasiya Vidyalaya and a hall at Shrimad Bhagwad Gita Senior Secondary School.

He also expressed his displeasure with the policy of no exams from Class I to Class VIII and said “Why would children study when there are no exams. If these so- called human right activists say the pressure of exams would stunt the children’s growth, it is wrong thinking. The students would only prosper when there is some desire to learn and exams are a part of that inspiration,” he said. A policy would soon be formed to make coordination between private and government schools for educational reforms and improving the standard of learning at government schools.
