Prof Som Nath Sachdeva, Vice-Chancellor (V-C), Kurukshetra University, has been conferred with the Champion of Education Award 2024 for his contribution to entrepreneurship and skill development during a ceremony organised by Samadhan Group in collaboration with the Government of India at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Saturday.

Expressing his gratitude, Prof Som Nath highlighted Kurukshetra University’s pioneering efforts in research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and start-up.

He congratulated all the members of the university associated with entrepreneurship and skill development for their dedication and commitment.

Talking about the rigorous selection process for the award, university spokesperson Prof Brajesh Sawhney said nominations were invited from several sectors, including food processing, start-up, manufacturing, social, agriculture, service, women entrepreneurs, real estate, and education.

After a careful consideration by a selection committee and online voting, the final list of three individuals from each sector was prepared through interviews conducted by the committee of IIM Lucknow, he added.

The V-C gave the credit for the university’s achievements to the hard work of all stakeholders. He underscored the university’s work in entrepreneurship and skill development, which helped the university bag the top honour in the esteemed award category.
