KURUKSHETRA: Villagers blocked road near Thaska Ali village in Kurukshetra on Wednesday to protest against the death of Sikh activist Gurbaksh Khalsa.

Kurukshetra, January 21

Villagers blocked road near Thaska Ali village in Kurukshetra on Wednesday to protest against the death of Sikh activist Gurbaksh Khalsa.

They demanded action against police personnel for forcibly removing Khalsa from the water tank on Tuesday evening.

Shahbad SDM Satbir Kundu offered to form a committee to resolve the tension and observe the final rites.

Punjab Akali leader Mokham Singh criticised the authorities for hasty action in removing Khalsa from the water tank.

He also slammed the authorities for not taking family of the deceased into confidence on the post-mortem.
