Kurukshetra, April 16

One person was killed and several others were injured after being attacked by people of one community at Khanridwa village in the district on Monday.

SP Abhishek Garg, who rushed to the spot, said efforts were on to nab the culprits.

The affected party alleged that a group of more than 100 persons led by Jasmer Singh Chahal of the same village attacked them. The dispute is over possession of a burial ground at the village.

Another villager, Mehmoob Singh, alleged that Chahal's two brothers, his male family members and a large number of youths from outside reached the burial ground on several vehicles.

The victims, however, said no other person from the village other than Jasmer and his family was involved in the attack.

The attackers opened several rounds of fire on the spot, they alleged.
