The Municipal Corporation started cleaning the drain on Sanoli road after protest by former Mayor Bhupender Singh on Wednesday, who marched to the MC office with slabs of the drain loaded on a cart

The former Mayor said that the Sanoli Road was vital to the city at it connected Panipat to the neighbouring state. He said the MC had removed the slabs two months ago to clean the drain, but it neither covered the drain nor removed the garbage which clogged it. The former Mayor said the uncovered drain had become a safety hazard to the residents

He said the MC officials refused to pay any heed to the problem despite repeated requests forcing him to protest. Panipat, TNS
