MC issues NOC for building plan on fake document

Jogender Swami, a former member of the Zila Parishad, has alleged involvement of Municipal Corporation officials in issuing NOC for a building plan to a man on the basis of fake documents.

He alleged that the civic body had issued the NOC even when the XEN, Public Works Department Building and Roads (PWD B&R), had rejected it.

Swami alleged that a resident of Model Town had applied for the NOC to the MC. After getting the application, the civic body sought information from the PWD (B&R) before issuing the certificate for building plan number 34-MTA-2016-17 vide memo number 6953 dated November 24 last year, he said.

It came to light that the XEN, PWD B&R, had said no to issuing the NOC for the proposed site on December 7 last year vide letter number 202715, saying that the land belonged to the Irrigation Department. He said it was being used as a bypass.

Swami alleged that the objection certificate issued by the XEN had been converted into an NOC at the MC office.

The former member of Zila Parishad said, “A fake letter has been prepared with the same number and same date in the name of the XEN, PWD B&R, to facilitate the owner of the land.”

Pradeep Attri, XEN, PWD B&R said, “The building plan of the proposed site has been rejected by our department.”

The MC officials had been informed about the fake letter on which the building plan was passed, he said.

Dr Chander Shekhar Khare, Deputy Commissioner, said, “The matter will be probed.”
