Meeting held to make police people-friendly

YAMUNANAGAR: The Yamunanagar police today organised a police-public meeting at Sadar Police Station, Pansara.

Yamunanagar, June 20

The Yamunanagar police today organised a police-public meeting at Sadar Police Station, Pansara.

Yamunanagar SP Rajesh Kalia chaired the meeting. “We want to make the Yamunanagar police friendlier,” said Kalia. He said they had already organised police-public meetings in the Bilaspur police station and would organise such programmes in other police stations of the district.

He added that through such programmes, the police would come close to the people, who would help to keep the police informed about untoward incidents happening in the district.

“Our aim is to make Yamunanagar a crime-free district. Though we cannot completely finish the crime, we may bring it down to a great extent with the help of residents,” he said.

Kalia sought people’s cooperation in solving the cases. He also sought public opinion on traffic and other problems.

Earlier, Kalia opened a maal khana yard in the police station and planted a sapling. — TNS
