Chandigarh, June 23
Three youths allegedly kidnapped a 15-year-old mentally challenged girl from Gajuwala village in Fatehabad district and raped her for 13 days in a house in Jakhal town.
The accused allegedly abandoned the girl at the Jakhal railway station on Friday from where the Railway Police spotted her and handed her over to the local police.
She later narrated the horror to her family and her father lodged a complaint with the police.
The police registered a case under the POCSO Act after the girl’s medical examination.
The details of the accused could not be procured as the police remained busy on Saturday in the Chief Minister’s programmes in Tohana town.
Sources said that the girl went missing from her house on June 9 and her family had lodged a complaint with the police on June 13.
Dalit girl raped in Hisar
Hisar: A 16-year-old Dalit girl was reportedly raped by two persons in a village under Narnaund police station on Saturday.
The police said the girl was returning home from fields when the accused abducted her and took her to a hotel and raped her. The police registered a case against Anil and his accomplice under Sections 365, 341, 376, 323 and 506 of IPC and the POCSO Act.
The girl said the accused escaped from the hotel after she raised the alarm. On reaching home, she narrated the incident to her family that decided to report the matter to the police. — TNS
