Minister visits grain markets

Yamunanagar, April 22

Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Karan Dev Kamboj today visited the grain markets in Radaur, Jagadhri, Chhachhrauli and Khizrabad in the district to take stock of the procurement process.

He reviewed the procurement and lifting of wheat with officials of the government agencies. He also talked to farmers and commission agents and directed the officials concerned to provide all facilities to the farmers.

He said that the procurement agencies had so far procured nearly 57.17 lakh tonnes of wheat in the state.

The minister also inspected the office of the market committee, Radaur.

Jagadhri SDM Bharat Bhushan Kaushik, District Food and Supply Controller Surinder Singh, district BJP president Mohinder Khadri, general secretary Rajesh Sapra and media in charge Sumit Garg were present on the occasion. — TNS
