The money from cow smuggling and slaughtering is being used in terrorism, special presiding officer Bharti Arora of the police squad to stop cow smuggling in the state, said here on Monday.
Cows were being smuggled from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Punjab and other states to Bangladesh via UP and West Bengal she claimed. The BSF had to work hard to check this smuggling, while the UP and West Bengal police had unearthed such kind of gangs, she said.
Arora said they were planning to start tagging system for cattle. Three code numbers would be given, one of cattle, second of gaushala, and third of district, so that nobody can desert cattle on the road, she added.
Bhani Ram Mangla, chairman, Gau Sewa Aayog, said the commission would issue I-cards to cow activists in the state after police verification.
