The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday set a one-month deadline for the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conclude investigation in the Murthal rape case.
It said the case would be handed over to the CBI in case the SIT failed to act.

The bench said it could not close its eyes to the rape allegations.
“If you don’t get something, let the case go to the CBI,” the bench asserted.
Meanwhile, IPS officer Amitabh Dhillon will head the special investigation team to look into reservation stir cases.
The order comes in wake of the largescale withdrawal of cases in connection with the stir.
