Mystery shrouds gangster’s death in police custody

PALWAL: A gangster, who was arrested from Uttar Pradesh on February 13, died under mysterious circumstances on Sunday. Pawan alias Hariya, a resident of Bhainsrawli village in Faridabad, was arrested from UP on February 13.

Palwal, February 18

A gangster, who was arrested from Uttar Pradesh on February 13, died under mysterious circumstances on Sunday.

Pawan alias Hariya was in police custody and was produced in a court when he reportedly complained of pain. He was declared brought dead by doctors at Palwal civil hospital around 3pm.

Hariya, a resident of Bhainsrawli village in Faridabad, was arrested on the night of February 13 from Uttar Pradesh.

Carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh, he was wanted in 42 cases of crime committed in Haryana, UP, Rajasthan and Delhi.

One of his associate was gunned down in an encounter by Faridabad police on February 8.

A team of three doctors of civil hospital will conduct the post-mortem.
