New Ambala DC does security review

AMBALA: Sharandeep Kaur on Monday took charge as Deputy Commissioner here and held a meeting with the officials of the district administration and police to review the security arrangements ahead of CBI court verdict in Dera Sacha Sauda chief Ram Rahim case on August 25.



Ambala: Sharandeep Kaur on Monday took charge as Deputy Commissioner here and held a meeting with the officials of the district administration and police to review the security arrangements ahead of CBI court verdict in Dera Sacha Sauda chief Ram Rahim case on August 25. She imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) till further directions. The Deputy Commissioner asked the officials to develop better coordination, identify sensitive areas and chalk out strategies to maintain peace in the district. She asked them to constitute peace committees at block level. She directed the officials not to go on leave without prior permission. Meanwhile, Abhishek Jorwal, Superintendent of Police, has directed the licensed arms holders to submit their weapons by Tuesday. TNS
