Karnal, November 15

The state government has decided to do away with the no-objection certificate (NOC) from the district town planner’s office for the sale deed of a land measuring over two kanal.

It government has amended Section 7-A of the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Area Act, 1975 for obtaining the NOC for the registration of sale deed of more than two kanal in the notified urban area. Earlier, it was mandatory to procure NOC for the sale of land up to two-and-a-half acres (20 kanal), said Amrik Singh, District Town Planner (DTP).

In case of the property measuring less than two-and-a-half kanals, the person who wants to sell the plot has to approach the office, he maintains.

As per the sources in the department, the number of pendency in procuring the NOC may be a reason behind the decision.
