No sale of beef at any cost: Khattar

Clarifying the government stance over the issuing of permits for beef, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said today that the government would not allow the sale of beef at any cost.

“Beef is banned in the state and there is no question of issuing any licence for the same,” he said while replying to a question regarding a report published in a newspaper, in which he had reportedly stated that the government would issue special permits to serve beef to foreigners in five star hotels.

On the threat of stir by Jats, the CM said all issues would be settled through dialogues.

He was at Uchana village to lay the foundation stone of the bypass from Kaithal road to Karan Lake along with widening and strengthening of the Newal Gheer-Garhibirbal road, stone of four laning of 1,800-m road from Taraori to Indri drain was also laid. The foundation stone of the bypass was laid nearly more than a year of the announcement. The bypass would be 10-m wide and give relief to commuters of Kaithal, Jind and Pehowa who had to ply to Chandigarh, Delhi, Yamunanagar and Uttar Pradesh as they would not have to pass from the city.

The CM said it would be completed in next 18 months with an expenditure of around Rs 57 crore.

Later, the CM laid the foundation stone of fixing of interlocking tiles in Sector 6 and housing board colony. Apart from it, Khattar also laid the foundation stone of a Traffic Park for imparting the training of driving skills at the cost of Rs 2 crore and it would be constructed in the next nine month.

Skips inauguration of new lawyers’ chambers

Lawyers had to face a huge embarrassment as they were not able to get the completion certificate of the newly constructed fourth floor of the lawyer’s chambers, due to which the Chief Minister had to skip the inauguration function.

However, the Chief Minister reached there and interacted with the lawyers, but did not inaugurate the building.

Earlier, he inaugurated the building of Haryana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) in Sector-3, the occupation certificate of which reportedly was not obtained.

The CM also felicitated several industrialists.

When Deputy Commissioner J Ganesan was asked about it, he said there were several violations in the building of the lawyers, but he was not aware about the occupation certificate to be obtained by the HCCI.
