Kurukshetra, May 24

A local court here on Tuesday issued non-bailable warrants against BJP MP from Kurukshetra Raj Kumar Saini in a case of promoting enmity between different groups.

Judicial Magistrate First Class Sanjay gave the order on Tuesday afternoon. Details of the order were not available.

On April 2, the court had asked Saini to appear in the court to file his reply on May 24. But he failed to appear in the court on Tuesday.

A court employee reportedly told the court that no one at Saini’s residence had accepted the summons orders on past several occasions.

Taking a serious note of this, the judicial officer issued the warrants. The next date of hearing has been fixed for August 6.

In May last year, senior INLD leader and president of the women wing of Sarv Jatiya Sarv Khap Mahapanchayat Santosh Dahiya had filed a case against Saini.

The Kurukshetra MP was accused of repeatedly issuing public statements that allegedly created tension in society.

Meanwhile, Saini was not available for comment.
