The ONGC will drill 10 water wells along the paleo-channels of the Saraswati river in Haryana.
Sources say the Haryana Saraswati Heritage Develpment Board (HSHDB) has already identified locations to drill six of the 10 water wells (four in Yamunanagar and one each in Kaithal and Fatehabad districts).
According to information, the board is yet to identify the locations to drill the remaining four water wells.
Sources add that from the cost estimates, the ONGC is likely to spend close to Rs 5 crore on drilling 10 wells for the board.
Prashant Bhardwaj, Deputy Chairman of the HSHDB, says besides the 10 water wells, a sewage treatment plant (STP) will also be set up at Khera Kalan village on the Seechewal model to keep the Saraswati clean. Another STP will be set up at Saraswati Nagar, the tenders for which will be called soon, he adds.
