INLD leader Ajay Chautala, who is currently out on parole from Tihar Jail where he is serving time in a JBT recruitment case on Monday arrived at Ninan village of Bhiwani district to attend the party rally to mark the 104th birth anniversary of his grandfather and former deputy PM Devi Lal.

Ajay, who arrived at the rally site accompanied by brother Abhay Chautala and JD (U) leader KC Tyagi, earlier stayed at the makeshift media centre at an adjoining resort near the rally site. They arrived in a helicopter from Delhi.

Hisar party MP Dushyant Chautala and brother Digvijay Chautala are managing the rally affairs.

Ajay, who is undergoing 10 years’ imprisonment, has come to the rally after five years. In 2012 he had last attended the anniversary rally. The party organises the rally every year on September 25 to celebrate the birth anniversary of Devi Lal.

A large number of INLD activists wearing green attire and carrying green flags have poured in to attend the rally. The workers have been travelling in tractor-trolleys and buses while the youth wing activists have been marching towards Ninan village on the outskirts of Bhiwani.

INLD leaders have been projecting Bhiwani as the karambhoomi of Ajay Chautala, who was convicted in the JBT recruitment scam along with father and former CM Om Prakash Chautala.

Addressing the gathering, Abhay Chautala said that on coming to power, the INLD would waive farm loans. He also assured free power to the agriculture sector and promised to cut domestic power bill by half.

On behalf of jailed former CM Om Prakash Chautala, Abhay promised to increase the old-age pension to Rs 3,200 per month. He also lured youth by promising to ensure one job to each family.

Later, Ajay Chautala also addressed the gathering.

Meanwhile, the INLD has decided to organise another rally in March next year.

The party also promised safety of women while lambasting the state BJP government for its alleged failure to put a curb on crime against women.
