PM alone responsible for inconvenience, says Selja

Rajya Sabha member Kumari Selja today held Prime Minister Narendra Modi responsible for the inconvenience being faced by people due to demonetisation.

Addressing mediapersons at her residence here today, she said, “Only Prime Minister Narendra Modi is responsible for the demonetisation. We even cannot say that the government was responsible as there are apprehensions that even the Finance Minister was unaware of the decision.”

Selja alleged, “This situation has been imposed on the country just because one man wanted it. The country has been going through a phase that it had never seen. The Prime Minister has been giving a new ‘jumla’ everyday and trying to mislead people on the pretext that they have been fighting against the black money. But amid this entire situation, he has not been paying attention to the inconvenience people are going through.”

“This decision will hit the economy and the GDP of our country badly. Counterfeit notes of the newly introduced currency have already reached the market. Corruption has increased. The BJP Government has not given anything positive to the country so far. It has failed to deliver on its promises and only the PM is responsible for the situation,” said the MP.

She said, “The government has failed to ensure smooth functioning of the Rajya Sabha. Earlier, the PM was not coming for discussion but when he came he used wrong words for the Opposition. The PM must apologise.”

“The Centre is directionless. The BJP should stop relating everything with the Congress. The incumbent government is in power for over two years. The BJP had also formed the government at the Centre during the period of 70 years about which the PM speaks on every occasion,” she added.
