Police summon Ryan school management officials for questioning

Out to investigate allegations of negligence on their part in making Ryan school safe and secure for students, Gurugram police have summoned top management officials for questioning on Monday.

The SIT investigating the matter has issued summons to school CEO Ryan pinto, managing director Grace Pinto and chairman Augustine Pinto under JJ Act to appear for questioning in CP office on Monday morning.

The team claimed that if the trio failed to do so the police can proceed to arrest them for questioning.

Meanwhile, having received a notification for taking over investigations of Pradyuman murder case the CBI is all set to register an FIR in the matter anytime soon.

 “Summons have been issued to the trio under Section 75 of the Justice Juvenile Act and we expect that they will be join investigation in time. Ignorance of summons shall invite apt action as per law,” said Ashok Bakshi, DCP (south) and head of SIT.  

Another investigator said, “We had booked management for negligence and following interrogation of two local management employees and former and current principal we got to know that this trio pulled the strings when it came to getting any safety or infrastructure upgrade so they have been asked to come down for questioning. If they fail to do so we might have to arrest them.”

It may be noted that the school’s two management employees were arrested by police and during interrogation told that whatever proposals pertaining to security or infrastructure demands of school reached them they forwarded them to Mumbai.

Even school’s former principal and current principle also told police that they had raised security concerns numerous times but management never heard them.

The SIT visited the school campus and found many security lapses which made a crime like Pradyuman murder an incident in waiting. The police according to sources shall question Pintos to verify statements of staff and management recorded so far.

Meanwhile, lawyers of Pradyuman’s father Varun Thakur claimed that they would approach the Supreme Court on Monday if the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) did not start probe in two days.

Thakur said that he had met every leader seeking speedy probe and was disappointed in delay and thus would take legal help in getting investigations started.
