Newly inducted Industries and Commerce Minister Vipul Goel has said he would reach out to industrial houses that have left Haryana because of an “unfriendly” policy and would try to bring them back.

In an exclusive interview with The Tribune after taking charge of the Industries & Commerce, Industrial Training and Environment ministries, Goel said he would meet all industrialists who left the state, know their concerns, resolve their issues on priority and request them to return.

“I will implement the Telangana and Kerala models of industrial policy and, if need arises, I will visit these states to study their models,” he said. “The TS-iPass (Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System), which goes well beyond conventional single-window systems, is the hallmark of the Telangana industrial policy.”

In Telangana and Kerala, the project was deemed to be cleared if an industrialist expresses intent to set up a project and no objection is raised in 15 days, the minister said, adding his emphasis would be to attract mother units in Haryana so that ancillary units would follow.

Goel observed that a few pockets of Haryana were over-saturated with industries, while several others did not have any industry at all.

He said providing industry-friendly environment in the state would be his priority. “I will see to it that industries are set up in diversified areas. For this, the government will provide incentives for establishing units in lesser developed areas,” the minister said.

For Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), he planned to turn them into skill development centres.

The minister, who already has his name in the Limca Book of Records for planting more than 2 lakh saplings in Faridabad in 2015, said: “I am in Chandigarh now, but my supporters are busy planting saplings in Faridabad,” Goel added.

Single-window service

Sonepat: Vipul Goel said the problems of industrialists would be solved through a single-window system and “Sarkar Aap Ke Dwar” programme.

He was interacting with the media during his brief stop near Murthal. Goel thanked Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for showing faith in him and giving him the responsibility.

Targeting former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for neglecting the Faridabad Beopar Kendra, he said that as a result of it, several traders and industrialists had migrated to other places. “I will make efforts to restore the old glory of Faridabad in the industrial sector,” he added.

Plots to be allotted soon

Karnal: The allotment of industrial plots is the priority of the new Industries and Commerce Minister Vipul Goel. “Plots will be allotted to beneficiaries soon. The state government will not discriminate against any area while setting up industries,” he said here today.

The minister lauded the government’s efforts for Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit and said the Jat agitation had no effect on it, as several MoUs were signed during the summit.

Sick units to be revived, procedure of granting NoC to be relaxed: Minister

Kurukshetra: The newly indicted Industries Minister Vipul Goel on Sunday said sick units would be revived and the procedure of granting NoC to new units relaxed.

“The work to identify clusters for industry will be expedited. Locations are being identified for setting up industries. Areas deprived of industry will be earmarked and clusters will be developed there,” he told the media here.

Goel further said the state government was promoting e-industrialisation in a planned manner. TNS
