Rajputs burn effigy of director Bhansali

JHAJJAR: Members of the Rajput community today organised a protest march and also burnt the effigy of Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, accusing him of twisting historical facts while making movie ‘Padmavati’ based on the life of the 13th-14th century queen of Chittorgarh.

Members of the Rajput community today organised a protest march and also burnt the effigy of Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, accusing him of twisting historical facts while making movie ‘Padmavati’ based on the life of the 13th-14th century queen of Chittorgarh.

“This is an insult to the Rajput community. We will not allow anyone to tamper with our history,” one of the protesters said. They have demanded a ban on the release of the movie. — TNS
