HISAR: The Hisar police have finalised the process to attach the property of self-styled godman Rampal, who has been in jail since a violent confrontation with the police in November 2014 at Satlok Ashram near Barwala.

The Hisar police have finalised the process to attach the property of self-styled godman Rampal, who has been in jail since a violent confrontation with the police in November 2014 at Satlok Ashram near Barwala. 

The decision to attach the moveable and immovable property located near Barwala was taken under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. SSP Ashvin Shenvi said the order of attachment had been sent to the Home Department.

The property includes around 12.75-acre land, which comprises Satlok Ashram spread over 93 kanal in Barwala, another on over 7 kanal in Daulatpur village and 9 marla land near Dhani Prem Nagar in Barwala. Besides, a total amount of Rs 4,83,064 in six bank accounts, which are in the name of his disciple Babita and one in the name of his father Baljeet Singh, has been attached. 

Another amount of Rs 55,68,712 through proceeds of auction of perishable goods at Satlok ashram is among the forfeited property.
