Refresher course on environment studies begins

SONEPAT: Prof SP Bansal, Vice-Chancellor of BPS Women University, Khanpur Kalan, today inaugurated a 21-day refresher course on environment studies organised at the university’s UGC Human Resources Centre.

Prof SP Bansal, Vice-Chancellor of BPS Women University, Khanpur Kalan, today inaugurated a 21-day refresher course on environment studies organised at the university’s UGC Human Resources Centre.

In his inaugural address, Bansal laid stress on having the knowledge of environment to keep pace with the changing circumstances in the world. “Environment changes affect every living being in every part of the world,” he added.

He also said that quality, affordability and acceptability must be the essential parts of the higher education in the new education policy and there should be time-based changes in syllabus of the studies.

Prof Guru Prasad, subject expert and prominent agriculture scientist from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, stressed on the need for environment protection in this period of materialistic gains. He appealed the people for limiting their requirements and cooperate in saving the resources being provided by the nature.

As many as 70 college teachers from different parts of the country are attending the refresher course.
