Another protester said at the time of upgrade, the government had assured the students that the teaching staff would become available in two-three days, whereas it has been two-three months and no teacher has been made available.

The police who reached the spot of protest examined the case and said that the senior officials of the authority concerned have been informed about the situation.

On May 17, the Haryana government had officially upgraded the government school, after students sat on a hunger strike for several days.

The protesting girls said they had put forth the demand of upgrade as they fear for their safety if they travel to a senior secondary school located in a different village for higher studies. — ANI
