A rice miller committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in a hotel room here.
The deceased has been identified as Roshan Lal (58), owner of Luxmi Rice Mill at Nissing, and a resident of Sector 8 here. He left a suicide note in which he blamed Rajbir Sharma, a commission agent in Najafgarh, and Hari Mohan, a commission agent in Jind, for his death.
In the suicide note, the rice miller stated that Rajbir and Hari Mohan were harassing him, said Jai Narain, in charge, Sadar Bazar police post.
Roshan Lal came to the hotel with his two brothers around 11.30pm on Monday. His brothers left after dropping him at the hotel.
Around 7.15am on Tuesday, Roshan Lal’s son came to meet him, but he did not respond when his son knocked on the door. When the room was opened with the master key, Roshan Lal was found dead in the room.
“My brother was mentally harassed by the commission agents. My brother was paying money to Rajbir in instalments, but he insisted that my brother pay him the money in single instalment,” said Prem Chand, brother of the deceased.
The police said a case of abetment to suicide had been registered against Rajbir Sharma and Hari Mohan.
