Rs 13.19 cr aid to 2,105 SC beneficiaries

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation has provided financial assistance of over Rs 13.19 crore including Rs 1.38 crore as subsidy to 2,105 beneficiaries under various schemes up to October, 2017.

The Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation has provided financial assistance of over Rs 13.19 crore including Rs 1.38 crore as subsidy to 2,105 beneficiaries under various schemes up to October, 2017.

A spokesman of the corporation said here yesterday that members belonging to the Scheduled Castes were being provided loans under various categories so as to enable them to set up their ventures and make them self-employable. These categories included agriculture and allied, industrial, trade and business sectors, professional and self-employment sector. Financial assistance under schemes assisted by the National Scheduled Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC) is also being provided to them.

He said under the agriculture and allied sectors, loans totalling Rs 8.36 crore for dairy and piggery farming, sheep rearing and ‘Jhota Bhuggi’ were disbursed among 1,506 beneficiaries up to October. Out of which, more than Rs 7.52 crore has been released as bank loans, Rs 83.40 lakh as subsidy and Rs 43,000 as margin money.

He said Rs 30.60 lakh had been provided to 47 beneficiaries under the industrial sector scheme of which Rs 23.27 lakh had been released as bank loans, Rs 4.27 lakh as subsidy and Rs 3.06 lakh as margin money. Similarly, under the trade and business sector, Rs 3.75 crore had been provided to 511 beneficiaries of which Rs 2.89 crore had been released as bank loans, Rs 49.22 lakh as subsidy and Rs 37.02 lakh as margin money.

He said Rs 2 lakh had been given to two beneficiaries of which Rs 1.60 lakh had been released as bank loans and Rs 20,000 each as subsidy and margin money. Similarly, Rs 74.50 lakh had been released among 39 beneficiaries under the schemes assisted by the NSFDC during the same period. Out of this, the share of the state corporation was Rs 6.35 lakh.
