Rohtak, January 16
The murder case of a 15-year-old boy whose body was found inside a bed-box at his house in Samargopalpur village of the district on Saturday got a new twist with the police claiming that the boy, Dharm alias Monty, had been killed by his sister and not his father.
Addressing a news conference here today, Rohtak SP Pankaj Nain stated that as per their investigation, Monty’s 19-year-old sister Kajal had smashed his head with a hammer and slit his throat.
Kajal had earlier stated that Monty was killed by their father Tejpal. Kajal’s mother Sushila backed her version.
On their complaint, the police had registered a case against Tejpal. However, investigation indicated that not Tejpal, but Kajal had killed Monty. On sustained interrogation, Kajal confessed to having murdered her brother, the SP said.
Investigation revealed that Kajal had a boyfriend, to whom she used to talk on the phone. Monty used to inform their mother of Kajal’s affair, which infuriated her. On Saturday, when their parents were not at home, Kajal allegedly made her brother sit on a chair on the pretext of playing a game.
“She then tied him with a dupatta and smashed his head with a hammer. She also slit his throat,” the SP stated, adding that Kajal then put Monty’s body inside a bed-box, cleaned the blood-stained floor and left the house.
After that, she took a bus to Panipat, from where she called her mother and told her that her father had killed Monty, while she had managed to escape.
