The state Cabinet at a meeting today decided to reduce the ratio of 85:15 to 90:10 for the written test and give up to 10 marks for experience and socio-economic criteria in recruitment to Group C and D posts.

It also gave individuals having immovable property on lease or rent the option of buying these at the prevailing collector rate.

Addressing a press conference after chairing the Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said five marks would be given if no person from immediate family was a regular employee of Central or any state government.

Five marks would be given if the applicant was a widow or if the applicant’s father had died before the applicant was 15 years of age. Five marks would be given in case the applicant belonged to denotified tribe (Vimukt Jatis and Tapriwas Jatis) or nomadic tribe of Haryana which was neither a Scheduled Caste nor Backward Class.

Five marks were kept for experience, with 0.5 mark for each year or part thereof exceeding six months on the same or higher post. “An applicant can get a maximum of 10 marks,” Khattar said.

He explained an amendment in the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, 1994, to allow transfer of immovable municipal property to individuals who were in possession of shops or houses.

He said the government had received several requests from occupiers to allot the property to them as they had been paying nominal rent for years.

The Cabinet approved rationalisation of rates under the Motor Vehicle Act. In case of vehicles of other states, primarily luxury AC buses, the revised rates of tax would be Rs 5,000 per day, Rs 60,000 for 15 days and Rs 1 lakh per month.

A rebate of 10 per cent, 15 per cent and 20 per cent would be given if the tax was paid for a quarter, six months and one year, respectively.

The Cabinet also approved the proposal of the PWD (Building and Roads) to denotify toll point 49 on the Narnaul-Koriawas-Rambass road towards the Rajasthan border in Mahendragarh district.

Khattar said the government would take over management of Chandi Devi temple at Chandimandir in Panchkula, which would be administered under Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Act, 1991.

“The Cabinet has decided to take over management of Durga Mata temple at Banbhori in Hisar. The decision has been taken in view of difficulties experienced by devotees and lack of facilities,” the Chief Minister said.
