Teachings of Gita revered by all faiths, says Rajnath

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita were revered by people all faiths. He was addressing a function to mark the end of the International Gita Mahotsav-2016 here today.

The Union Minister said, “Historical figures like Raskhan were ardent Krishna devotees as it gave the message of universal brotherhood. It is not just a mere religious text but also a guide on how to lead a meaningful life.”

Singh said the holy text gave the message of Dharam Rajya. He also stressed on the concept of “Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam”.

Meanwhile, Khattar said the event was held at an international level for the first time to promote the teachings of Bhagvad Gita.

Mass Gita recitation

The Kurukshetra Development Board today attempted a world record by organising recitation of Gita shlokas in 25 countries. The volunteers associated with various religious and social organisations participated in the event. Union Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and several other state ministers also participated in the 15-minute chanting.

GJUST organises conference on Gita

Hisar: A valedictory function was organised to mark the end of the three-day International Conference on “Nurturing Human Values in Youth: A Perspective of Srimad Bhagavad Gita” at the Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST) here today.

Prof KP Singh, vice chancellor, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, said, “The Gita is the most systematic statement endowing real essence of life and true sentiments of mankind.”

Prof Tankeshwar Kumar, vice-chancellor of GJUST, stressed on the need to inculcate the teachings of Gita.

As many as 1,500 children from various schools participated in the workshop organised during the three-day conference.
