A Dalit girl was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by four youths at a village in Charkhi Dadri district on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. The victim was spotted by her mother in an unconscious state on Tuesday morning.

A student of Class XII, the victim told the police that she had gone to answer the nature’s call when a village youth accompanied by three others abducted her at knife-point and took her in a car. They took turns to rape her and dumped her near her house the next day. She was taken to hospital for medical examination.

The girl’s mother said the accused had threatened her daughter when she was on her way home from school on Monday. “I found her lying unconscious when I woke up in the morning. My husband was away so I preferred not to report the matter to anyone as my daughter revealed that the accused had threatened to kill her and her brother if she approached the police. We decided to lodge a complaint after my husband returned home last night,” the victim’s mother told mediapersons.

SP Himanshu Garg said the police had started a probe after lodging an FIR in the case. “The girl is being counselled, while police teams are trying to nab the accused,” he said.
