In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old woman was gang-raped by a caterer she worked for and his friend after being called on the pretext of clearing accounts.
The duo took her to a secluded spot on the Dwarka Expressway and took turns in raping her and it was when they were returning to drop her that they were intercepted at police check post and nabbed.
According to police, when they signalled the car to stop, the victim came out and narrated the incident.
As per complaint filed by victim, hailing from Bihar and residing in Dundahera, she cooks in wedding functions and arranges women for the same to caterer Ram Ratan.
It was around 10.30 pm last night that she called caterer for payment and he called her to Rajiv Chowk.
She reached there in half-an-hour and found Ratan waiting in his Santro with another friend Sher Singh. He asked her to sit the in car saying he had an urgent delivery of ice cream to make at a community centre in Sector 9.
“He said he would then pay me after getting money from there and also drop me home safely. Unsuspecting I sat in his car. He delivered the ice cream at the community centre and then drove around and stopped to buy liquor. I grew suspicious and asked them to drop me there but they did not and took me to highway and raped me in turns. I was threatened with murder.
“It was around 2 am that they drove back to Sector 10 area where we were stopped at a check post and I jumped out and told police what had happened,” victim said.
Police nabbed the duo and booked them under Section 376-D (gang-rape) of the IPC as medical examination confirmed rape.
It was during police interrogation that the duo reportedly confessed to the crime.
