12 hurt in bus mishap

Thirty passengers travelling had a miraculous escape in a bus mishap near Sataun in Paonta Sahib area of Sirmaur district this afternoon. The bus was enroute from Shilai to Paonta Sahib.

The police said the mishap occurred due to mechanical fault. The driver reportedly rammed the bus into hill to avert a major accident. As many as 12 bus passengers sustained injuries. They were admitted to hospital while another six were referred to the Civil Hospital at Paonta Sahib. The police Anil Kumar, bus driver, avert a major tragedy through his presence of mind. Further investigations are under way in the case.
