The Youth Congress rally held here today turned out to be a show of strength for the Congress regime as five ministers, chief parliamentary secretaries (CPS) and legislators marked their presence as Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh lambasted the Modi-led regime for failing to come up to the expectations of the people.

Great efforts had been made to ensure a good turnout at the rally, the show organized by the State Youth Congress president Vikramaditya Singh, son of the Chief Minister. “The BJP is misusing power to crush its political opponents and services of Central investigating agencies like the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax Department were being misused to implicate me in false and fabricated cases,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister accused the BJP of indulging in divisive politics and said the saffron party had always tried to divide the people on cast, creed and religious lines for achieving their petty for political gains. This, he added, only resulted in creating disharmony in society, adding that the Congress believed in secularism and inclusive development.

The ministers who were present at the rally included Kaul Singh Thakur, Thakur Singh Bharmouri, Anil Sharma, Sudhir Sharma, Praksah Chaudhary, CPSes Sohan Lal, Nand Lal and ID Lakhanpal and MLAs Ravi Thakur, Rajesh Dharmani and others.

National Youth Congress president Amrinder Singh Brar Warring urged the people to ensure the repeat of the Congress in the next Assembly elections due in December 2017.
