The 10-day Sanawar Leadership Programme, which is being held in collaboration with Aspire, kick-started at The Lawrence School, Sanawar, on Tuesday.
Over 20 girls and boys in the 10-14 year age group from across the country are participating in this residential summer camp. It seeks to develop leadership skills and qualities through discussion-based case studies, adventure activities, community service, communications and various other important life skills.
Amit Bhatia, chief executive officer and founder of Aspire, informed the participants about various activities offered in the programme and encouraged the young participants to take maximum advantage of this unique opportunity. The participants were engaged in thought provoking Socratic dialogue titled “Kungfu Panda” on the first day of the camp.
Inaugurating the second edition of TSLP, Deeya Bajaj, the guest of honour on the occasion and an avid mountaineer said a true leader must always be humble and positive. She created history about a month ago by becoming the first Indian father-daughter duo to scale Mount Everest.
In his welcome address, Vinay Pande, Headmaster, Lawrence School, said, “We must train ourselves adequately to face adversity in life if we want to become a true leader.” The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Brigadier Vikram Sharma and Captain AJ Singh, IPSC chairman and director, Pine Grove School.
