67,000 pilgrims take holy dip

CHAMBA: Over 67,000 pilgrims took holy bath in the Manimahesh Lake till Janamashtami.

Over 67,000 pilgrims took holy bath in the Manimahesh Lake till Janamashtami.

This was stated by Deputy Commissioner, Chamba, Sudesh Mokhta here today.

The DC said the police had been deployed to ease the parking problem on the narrow stretch of the Bharmour-Hadsar road. Moreover, there was a shortage of parking space in the hill slopes of the mountainous terrain.

In view of the increasing flow of vehicles, the existing parking-lots could not accommodate the parking of huge number of vehicles, the DC said.

He observed that steps were required to be taken in future to development more parking-lots., since the pilgrims were facing a lot of inconvenience.
