Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said the proposal for the expansion of runway at Bhuntar was on his priority list.
During the three-day tour to Kullu and Manali, he said a Central team would visit Himachal on May 7 and seek the feasibility report for international airport.
He added that this team would also check the feasibility for the expansion of the Bhuntar airport and if the team approved, Bhuntar airport would be expanded first.
Addressing a public gathering at Haat village, he said the welfare of women, the youth, poor, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes was the priority of the government and several welfare schemes had been announced in the budget for them. He said the state government was working with fixed targets and 100 days of the government witnessed an unprecedented development.
The CM said the government had launched Gudiya Helpline and Shakti Help Button for ensuring the safety of women and Hoshiyar Singh Helpline for checking various illegal activities like illegal mining, drug peddling, poaching etc.
Thakur said the Mukhya Mantri Lok Bhawans would be constructed in all Assembly constituencies. The CM laid the foundation stone of the lift irrigation scheme at Sarabai. He inaugurated 33 kV substation at Sarabai .
