Bias during PM speech: Rs 1-lakh aid to students

KULLU: Kullu District Welfare Officer Ramesh Chand said Rs 1 lakh each would be provided to affected students in the matter of alleged bias with the students of a particular category during PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Pariksha Par Charcha’ speech on February 16 at high school at Chesta village.

Kullu District Welfare Officer Ramesh Chand said Rs 1 lakh each would be provided to affected students in the matter of alleged bias with the students of a particular category during PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Pariksha Par Charcha’ speech on February 16 at high school at Chesta village.

The students had alleged in a complaint that they were that they were made to sit in a place meant for cattle and horses outside the courtyard where the television had been setup for the interaction of students with the PM. The students had also alleged discrimination during the mid-day meals at the school. The report by a team headed by the Kullu SDM had already been sent to the higher authorities after an inquiry. The police had also registered an FIR against the school administration and the school management committee and are carrying out further investigations.

The Education Department had transferred the entire teaching staff and the principal of the school. The students were made to have mid-day meals together after providing counselling yesterday.
