BJP: Budget balanced, progressive

The state BJP today termed the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley as historic.

BJP leader PK Dhumal said the Budget was balanced, progressive, pragmatic and pro-people with focus on social security for poor and senior citizens.

Hailing the announcement of additional Rs5,000 crore for MGNREGA, Dhumal said it would increase the wages of labourers. “Introducing a Bill against black money shows the seriousness of the BJP over the issue,” he said. State party chief Satpal Singh Satti said the opening of AIIMS in Himachal would mean world-class health facilities for Himachalis.—TNS
