BJP: Fresh CD will lead to government’s downfall

The BJP today claimed that the new CD would become instrumental in the ouster of the present Congress government.

Meanwhile, there was no response from any minister or senior Congress leader on the audio CD containing 19 audio files with the conversation on various issues, including last Assembly polls, poll prospects of Congress leaders and private conservation with a woman targeting one of the ministers which suddenly surfaced yesterday.

“Earlier also, the Congress government led by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh was ousted after a CD of a Congress leader was released,” said Ganesh Dutt, state spokesperson of the BJP, adding that surfacing of such a CD, immediately after a preliminary inquiry by the CBI against the Chief Minister has exposed fissures in the Congress.

Demanding a CBI inquiry into the sordid episode, he said the authenticity of the CD should be established and names of the people involved in recording and release of telephonic conversations should be exposed. He demanded resignation of the state government.
