BJP thanks CM for Smart City status

Shimla: Local legislator Suresh Bhardwaj and former state president BJP today thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu for selecting Shimla as Smart City.

Shimla: Local legislator Suresh Bhardwaj and former state president BJP today thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu for selecting Shimla as Smart City.

Bhardwaj also congratulated residents of Shimla for making this endeavor a success despite impediments created by the Congress government and the lethargy of CPM which was heading the Shimla Municipal Corporation.

He said that this is a gift from the Prime Minister to the residents of Shimla for reposing faith in the BJP in the recently held Municipal Corporation elections. He further said Shimla would have made it to the Smart City list earlier but for the connivance and laxity shown by the unholy alliance of the Congress and CPM.

State BJP vice president Ganesh Dutt also thanked the Centre for including Shimla in the Smarty City list. — TNS
