Man dies after consuming ‘bhaang’

Hamirpur: One person reportedly died after consuming ‘bhaang’ on the eve of Mahashivratri here. The deceased has been identified as Raj Kumar (47), a resident of ward number 7.



Hamirpur: One person reportedly died after consuming ‘bhaang’  on the eve of Mahashivratri here. The deceased has been identified as Raj Kumar (47), a resident of ward number 7. His body was found from the premises of the temple. Three more persons were admitted to hospital after they complained of nausea and vomiting. SP Ajay Bodh said the body was handed over to the family after autopsy. A case under Section 174 has been registered. OC

Man found dead on road 

Una: Fifty-year-old Jyoti Swarup, a resident of Charatgarh village in Una subdivision, was found dead on the Una-Chandigarh highway at Behdala village late last night. According to Superintendent of Police Anupam Sharma, the victim, who was walking along the roadside, was apparently hit by an unknown vehicle.  OC

Encroachments removed 

Hamirpur: Encroachments were removed from government land at Bohta nagar panchayat today. Huts of migrant labourers were removed in ward number 7. The labourers, who have been living there for over a decade, were asked to remove the encroachments on their own, but they did not do so. They had asked for a month’s time as their wards exams are going on. Sarvjit Kaur, president of the nagar panchayat, said the labourers were issued notices time and again and despite that they had failed to remove the structures.
