Kullu: The police have booked three persons, including a contractor, in Kaza subdivision for engaging two minors in labour work and physically abusing.



Kullu: The police have booked three persons, including a contractor, in Kaza subdivision for engaging two minors in labour work and physically abusing. Lahaul and Spiti SP Gaurav Singh said the two minor boys rescued were aged 14 and 15 years and belonged to Bihar. The SP said that police had registered a case against contractor Suraj, Sonam Gatuk and Kunjan of Kaza. OC

Shimla: Cultural programmes, including western dance, folk dance, classical dance, mimicry and ramp walk, by the students marked Freshers' Day organised at the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition, Kufri. Col Rathore from the Territorial Army Group Headquarters, Chandigarh, was the chief guest  on the occasion while Major Jitender Singh from 133 Infantary battalion, territorial Army, Kufri, was the special guest. The theme was "Tomorrow Land". Pulkit and Nashra of the first semester were declared Mr and Miss Fresher, respectively. TNS

Academy organises fashion show  

Hamirpur: The Academy of Professional Skills organised a fashion show on Thursday to showcase the designs created by the students. As many as 16 Mumbai-based models participated in the event held at Basant Palace. Satpal Sharma, chairman of the academy, said that the institute would train students in computer-aided designing (CAD), kids art, drawing, personality development, English speaking, ramp performance, interview preparation and other skills to help them in placement. He said the dresses were displayed during the Lakme Fashion Week and other international events. OC
