Camp to spread awareness on apiculture

CHAMBA: To mark World Honey Bee Day, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) organised a camp at Kalsuin village in Chamba district on Sunday.

To mark World Honey Bee Day, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) organised a camp at Kalsuin village in Chamba district on Sunday.

The emphasis was laid on spreading awareness about apiculture and importance of bee-keeping among farmers for the cultivation of bees on a commercial scale for the production of honey. Around 70 farmers from different parts of the district participated in the event. Kishan Singh, chief general manager, NABARD, who was the chief guest, interacted with the participants. He discussed about the role of honeybees in strengthening the economy of rural and tribal farmers of the district. — OC
